About

Herby4 started as a family business when we moved to the Quantock Hills back in the early 2000s and started growing potted herbs in our polytunnel and selling them at local markets. However, we couldn’t help but notice the sheer abundance of apples that grew in small and large orchards all around us, that were growing, falling and rotting on orchard floors. We came up with a plan to try and turn wasted apples into apple juice.

It didn’t take us long to make a homemade ‘car jack’ apple press and begin experimenting, and before long Herby4 apple juices were born. Through the years we have massively scaled up production and now we produce enough to keep our customers at cafes, pubs shops and food festivals well stocked throughout the year.

Late summer through to autumn we can be found in beautiful traditional orchards throughout West Somerset, harvesting, then pressing and pasturising, to make our range of apple juices. Although things have moved on a lot in our production methods over the years, Herby4 is still all about creating and living sustainably; by ensuring a market for these once un-used apples it is our hope that we are helping to preserve these beautiful, biodiverse orchard habitats, whilst also creating a range of healthy and interesting local apple juices.
